VIEWS FOR 20/20 by Dr. Mark Skowron and Dr. Michelle Skowron HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE AN EYE EXAM? Many people ignore routine vision and eye health until they begin to have vision problems or start to experience eye discomfort. Many vision problems begin long before the onset of symptoms. An eye exam is usually the only way to catch vision problems and eye diseases early, when they are most treatable. If you are age 60 or older, you should have an eye exam every one to two years. Everyone over age 40 should have their eyes checked regularly and have the doctor tell them when to return. Young children should routinely have their eyes checked by their pediatrician, who will recommend a full eye exam if needed. Anyone who wears corrective lenses should have more frequent eye exams. Constant investment in the latest technology makes eye exams easier and more accurate from everyone from toddlers to seniors, usually without the inconvenience of dilation. Over the past 15 years, we were rated one of the best in Chicagoland with a consistent 90 percent overall patient satisfaction rating. When you need to schedule an eye exam, please contact SKOWRON EYE CARE. Our showroom is stocked with the latest and greatest trends in budget and designer eyewear. At Skowron Eye Care, our mission is your vision. P.S. An eye exam includes a series of tests to assess vision and check for diseases. It can also provide insight into overall health.
