VIEWS FOR 20/20 by Dr. Mark Skowron and Dr. Michelle Skowron 20/20 VISION: NORMAL, BUT NOT PERFECT If you have 20/20 vision, you can see an object clearly from 20 feet away. However, 20/20 vision is not considered perfect vision, but rather average or normal vision. A person with less than 20/20 vision may need corrective lenses to see clearly, while a person with 20/20 vision may choose to wear corrective lenses to improve their average, normal vision. Having 20/20 vision doesn't mean you don't have vision problems. A person with 20/20 vision may have limited peripheral vision, poor color vision, or lack of depth perception. Most people don't have 20/20 vision without corrective lenses. Common sight conditions, like nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia, and astigmatism, cause refractive errors in the eye's lens to produce less than 20/20 vision. As with an annual physical or dental exam, it is important to have your eyes examined regularly. Regardless of how great your eyesight is, scheduling regular eye exams is a great way to stay on top of your overall health. SKOWRON EYE CARE has been providing personal, cutting-edge eye care for patients in Elmhurst and surrounding areas since 1983. If it's been a while since you've had an eye exam, call our office today. At Skowron Eye Care, our mission is your vision. P.S. It is possible to have better than average (20/20) vision. A person may have 15/20 vision or 10/20 vision, seeing objects clearly from 20 feet away that the average person can only see clearly from 10 or 15 feet away. SKOWRON EYE CARE 370 N.
