The Altenheim is a not-for-profit senior living apartment rental community for persons who are 55 years-of-age and older. Throughout its history, The Altenheim has been a home, not merely a place to live. While much has changed in society over the past 130 years, The Altenheim’s culture of caring and respect has remained the same. Our dedication to the mission of providing quality housing is as strong and true today as it was in 1885.
The inscription at the top of the Briarwood building heralds that when you enter tranquility awaits you. People are often struck by how quiet the campus is, being tucked away amongst the mature trees along Madison and Van Buren Streets. Some say that The Altenheim is a well-kept secret. It is peaceful here. And life is fully, vibrantly lived here.
